This is a new club located in East London and appears to be quite popular. On the night we visited it was someone's birthday party so perhaps numbers were increased for the party but nether the less a very good turn out, we was also surprised to see very few single men and an abundance of some very nice looking couples and even single females.
The entrance could probably do with being made a little more discreet identified by a large open mouth with a huge hanging toung which looks very similar to a record cover by the Rolling Stones.
Once in, you walk straight in to the main area, there are lots of sofas and chairs, a downstairs toilet which we was told to avoid unless you had a mask and stairs up, as you walk through there is a vary large open bed / play platform with voyeur seating opposite, further on and you are in the disco area again with lots of quality seating and a small stage complete with coloured floor lighting and a dance pole which was in danger of being worn out with popularity, further on again and you have the bar, they had what we drank so could not complain about that and very reasonable prices too.
Go upstairs, carefully, it's a split level staircase you should use the toilets ahead, much nicer than the one below, carry on up to the first level and there is a what appears to be 3 or 4 double beds welded together Ron and more seating, up again even more carefully and you have the attic room with a couple of mattresses. Be even more careful when you turn round to come down again as the steps are very very steep and you have to lean down the stairwell to grab the hand rail which cannot be held as it is hard against a wall and frankly appears very dangerous.
We had a very good time, the lighting in the disco area is very good for these kind of clubs, the music was very danceable if you like a boogie and everyone was very nice and we didn't get pestered by any single men although Cazz got groped by the owners partner on the way out!
We would recommend it and will probably be going again.
We were not aware of this club until some online friends invited us to a birthday party their and we would like to point out there was no mention of admission fees and the web site clearly said free entry for couples but you needed to confirm you were going, we did confirm but we was still charged. Surly it is illegal inviting friends to parties and then asking them to pay on arrival.
Anyway once the haggling was over we found we had to go into separate male and female changing rooms unlike some other clubs where areas can be found for nervous couples to change together. There were ample lockers and seating in the changing rooms but they did look a little like you local swimming baths.
On leaving the changing room I noticed a sign saying “No alcohol beyond this point” but we was told to bring our own, so we left our drinks in the locker.
Entering the spar straight into the bar area we found attendance was good, but it was a party, fighting our way to the bar we was informed that the no alcohol sign could be ignored so we went back for our booze which we placed behind the bar for safe keeping, however although we had separate bottles Cazz's drink ran out before Scott's did yet he had had more glasses than Cazz, Looks like somebody stole our drink.
Most in attendance were from a yahoo group and all were very nice and friendly people, the layout was a little unusual though, you kind of circle it with the bar being at one end and the overcrowded Jacuzzis and some massage rooms at the back, down one side are some bench seats but sitting there is a bit like sitting in a corridor with people flowing from bar to Jacuzzis, at the other side was a TV area, we think the news was on, there was a DVD player but the only DVD's we found were old feature films, Wot no porn?. The seating was comfortable though.
Overall its on par with other spars we have visited although its method of attracting visitors to the club may be illegal, if you're a slightly timid couple we would recommend avoiding a party function thus allowing for a more personal experience in the Jacuzzis, however standard nights usually result in ample available single men and few if any couples.
Another thing that we find annoying in these kind of places is the owners always appear to be exempt from the stripping off rule and happily walk round fully dressed that makes undressed people feel uncomfortable.
Thanks to the nice couples we met and for the birthday cake that was absolutely delicious.
Club Raquels
We was invited to this venue by some Internet friends that decided to hold their wedding reception there, a little unusual yes but ideal if you want to get all your gests naked. Raquel's or City Spar as it used to be known is essentially a naturist club. It is a very good sized venue featuring 2 large Jacuzzis, 2 saunas, bar / disco area, pool table and ample seating throughout, upstairs is a video room, lockable play rooms, voyeur room and changing rooms with lockers.
We arrived at 9pm and a good crowd was in attendance but it was a wedding reception, we was told that it is generally a little quieter another said he had never seen it so good with a grinning smile, what surprised us was the fact that very few people were actually naked most covering up with the provided towel even the so called naturists were covered including the owner who was fully dressed but the female bar staff did have their tits out.
We joined another couple in a Jacuzzi, which was a very pleasant experience spoilt only by some guy who decided he would invite himself in with us, Cazz made it quite clear he was not welcome and quite rude not to ask if he could join us.
Most kept themselves to themselves and were polite and helpful, we would recommend this place if you like this kind of club, it's value for money compared to other venues charging more with fewer facilities, free soft drinks are served to you and we was even brought extra towels.
We have since been back to this club on a party night and have a very good time.
The Couples Club. (Oasis)
This club is located in north London.
Don't be fooled like we did and go to the same name wine bar, you want the side door for the basement dwelling.
Once you are down the deep stairs you notice a good size dance floor complete with flashing lights, a bar and a nice lady asking for your ticket.
Drinks are reasonably priced and everybody is helpful and friendly.
There are no private play rooms hear it is a fairly open club having a TV / Video room off the main dance floor where you can look through the two large windows and watch the action. Another room with separate yet slightly secluded seating bays is located at the other end.
It has its regular couples and usually plenty of action is seen although it did smell a little basement.
Cockatoo club
This club has recently moved to a larger venue. It has a mixed group of members and hosts stag nights and cum feasts. Membership will cost you £40 for couples and £xx for single men.
It is strongly recommended you ask before arrival the function for that night and arrive early. Although closing times of 3am are suggested we found it depends on the night and arrived at 11pm only to find a stag night in progress and a closing time of 12, but we was still expected to pay full entrance fee.
No bar hear again the usual soft drinks are available for free so take your own booze.
The club is on 2 levels, ground floor contains entrance lobby WC's and kitchen, disco room, a public play room with small viewing area and a lounge / video room, there is also a private bed room which I believe is now being converted into a Sauna Room!. The first floor contains a large bathroom and shower, and two bed rooms, one is public and usually the bed is occupied with several onlookers stood a round the walls. It is nicely decorated and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful.
